Spooners Cove in San Luis Obispo is an exposed reef and point break that has quite reliable surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the southeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest.The waves is a point break that peels left. Best around mid tide. A fairly popluar wave that can sometimes get crowded Watch out for rips, rocks, locals and sharks.
