Redhead Surf Guide
Redhead in Newcastle is a quite exposed reef break that has reasonably consistent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. Ideal winds are from the north northwest with some shelter here from northeast winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the northeast. The left hand reef break is better than the right.. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for sharks.
