Willow Creek in Monterey is an exposed reef break that usually has waves and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds are from the northeast. Groundswells are more common than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the west. Both left (best) and right reef breaks.. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Hazards include rips, rocks and sharks.
