The Box in Valencia is a fairly exposed beach and reef break that has inconsistent surf. Summer in particular tends to be flat. Offshore winds blow from the west southwest. Most of the surf comes fis in the form of windswells and the best wave direction is from the east northeast. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights together with both left and right hand reef breaks offshore. Good surf at all stages of the tide. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Hazards include urchins and obstacles.
