Ideal winds are from the southeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Light onshore winds ruin the qulaity Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the ideal swell direction is from the west southwest. Prevailing left breaking waves at the beach break and primariliy left reef breaks. and there is also a left hand point break. Best around low tide. An uncrowded break, even when it is working. Surfing here means negotiating dangerous rips.
