Shoulder high waves at Patons Rock. Ideal for a SUP and remarkably steep enough for my shortboard. The odd set was head high. Loads of perfect set ups for surf from here north to Milnthorpe. If only North Island and Farewell Spit were not in the way! East swells with about 150km of fetch can reach over 5m but most of that size misses this break. Happens a few times each winter. Bigger waves to north but more likely wind affected.
