Maghery in Donegal is a fairly exposed point break that does not work very often. Summer in particular tends to be flat. Offshore winds blow from the east and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the best swell direction is from the west. There is no point break. Best around low tide. An uncrowded break, even when it is working. Submerged rocks are a hazard.
