Las Gaviotas in Tenerife is a fairly exposed beach and reef break that only works when conditions are just right. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the northwest. Groundswells are more common than windswells and the best swell direction is from the south southeast. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Best around mid tide. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Beware of cliffs at high tide.
