Koggala Lefts in West Sri Lanka is an exposed reef break that has quite reliable surf. Summer offers the optimum conditions for surfing. Offshore winds blow from the north and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Handles onshore winds better than most spots Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. No reef break here. Good surf at all stages of the tide. The location means that it never gets crowded. Watch out for - Urchins - Rocks - Man-made danger (buoys etc.).
