Grotta Surf Guide
Grotta in Reykjanes Peninsula is an exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the east and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the west. There is no reef break. The location means that it never gets crowded. Surfing here means negotiating dangerous rips.
