Beatons in Invercargill is an exposed point break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds blow from the northeast. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the south.The waves is a point break that peels left. Best around low tide when the tide is rising. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Beware of sharks/rips.
