Dunes Cove in South Carolina is an exposed river break that has consistent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. The best wind direction is from the northwest. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the best swell direction is from the southeast. Waves at the river tend to peel to the right. Best around low tide when the tide is rising. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Beware of rips, sharks and pollution.
