Zanja Honda in West Uruguay is an exposed beach and point break that has quite consistent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the north northwest. Clean groundswells prevail and the ideal swell direction is from the south. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights and there is a left hand point break as well. It very rarely gets crowded here. Watch out for rocks.
