Thurlestone Reef in South Devon is a quite exposed reef break that has inconsistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the north northeast. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the southwest. A reef breaks right. Rocks are a hazard.
