Shelly Point on the East Coast is a fairly exposed point break that has inconsistent surf. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the west southwest. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the east southeast.
