Sharks Cove/The Hook in Santa Cruz is a quite exposed point break that has quite reliable surf and can work at any time of the year. The best wind direction is from the northwest. Groundswells are more common than windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest. The right reef break is best, but there is a left reef too.. Best around low tide. It's often crowded here. Watch out for sharks ,rocks and rips.

I love to surf here and can remember the dirt parking lot and also the way to get down we had to use a ROPE and navigate through the muddy slippery cliff.....and now.....IT IS WAY TOO CROWDED.....too many people are surfing today...augh
