S-Turns_1 in Maui is a fairly exposed reef break that has dependable surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the east southeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. A left hand reef break. Sometimes crowded. Watch out for urchins, rips, rocks, locals and sharks.
