Ranches in Oahu is an exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the east northeast. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the optimum swell angle is from the northwest. There are left and right breaking reefs. Best around mid tide. Sometimes crowded. Beware of urchins, rocks and sharks.
