Punta Ballenas in Piura is an exposed reef and point break that has pretty consitent surf. Spring and Summer provide the favoured conditions. The best wind direction is from the southeast. Clean groundswells prevail and the ideal swell direction is from the northwest. A left hand reef break and there is a left hand point break as well. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Take care of urchins and rocks.
