Portstewart Strand in Londonderry is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Ideal winds are from the southeast. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the northwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right. Surfable at all stages of the tide. It's sometimes crowded here.
