Moeraki in N Otago is an exposed beach and reef break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds blow from the west southwest. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the optimum swell angle is from the north northeast. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights and there is also a right hand reef break.. Best around high tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Sharks may be a hazard at this break.
