Honls in Big Island is an exposed reef break that has pretty consitent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. Ideal winds are from the northeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the south southwest. The reef provides both left and right breaks. It's sometimes crowded here. Hazards include urchins and rocks.
