Fishtraps in Tongatapu is a fairly exposed reef break that has unreliable waves. Winter is the favoured time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the southeast. Clean groundswells prevail and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. There is a left hand reef break. Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Take care of coral.
